Our History
Rawson Materials, a quality aggregate producer, was founded by Richard Rawson in 1947 with its original location on Munyan Road in Putnam, Connecticut (Plant #1). In 1971, Richard's son Allan graduated from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts and began his full-time employment with the company. In 1980, Rawson Materials opened its second plant at Town Farm Road in Putnam, Connecticut (Plant #2), added a fleet of trucks (Rawson Trucking) in 1986, and has since added locations at Black Hill Road (Plant #4) in Plainfield, Connecticut in 1997 and Norwich Road (Plant #5) in Plainfield, Connecticut in 2006.
